If you like your job, but feel like you aren't earning as much as you deserve, there are a few steps you can take to make more money:
Develop a good record at work: For three months, put in that extra effort -- get to work on time each day, take on extra assignments and be the best worker you can be.
Meet with your supervisor: Let your supervisor know that you enjoy your job but want to find out what you can do to make more money. If you can't make any more money in your job, you might want to look into moving up to a different job at your company. Click here for information on how to change jobs within your company.
Write down what you agreed on: Keep a record of your meetings with your supervisor -- when you met, what you discussed, what you agreed upon, etc.
Set goals: Make a plan for doing what your supervisor said was needed to make more money and then do it!
Write down your accomplishments: As you meet each goal, keep a record with specifics, like the date you accomplished the goal, what you did to accomplish the goal, etc.
Meet with your supervisor again: Once you've met the goals, meet with your supervisor again. Go over what you had agreed on, how you've met your goals and what the next steps will be to move forward and make more money.
If your supervisor doesn't keep up their end of the bargain it's time to look for a new job.
