Dawn Blackburn has worked in banking for 15 years. She's
been dedicated to customer service for a long time. She
started her career by accident as a customer service trainer
and is now the Assistant Vice President of Customer Service
Training at a large bank.
"I learned the customer service system and started
training new people when they came in," she says.
Dawn, who calls herself a "people person," loves
her work. She spends her days working with employees in
the customer service department. She also creates and updates
training documents and trains employees in bank branches.
Dawn never graduated from college, but she took night courses
in banking and customer service over the years. With patience,
time, and training, she was able to get promotion after
promotion.
Training employees is not a job for everyone. "It
takes a special person to train, just like it takes a special
person to teach," Dawn says. "You can't
wait to be motivated. You always have to be the one who
gets other people going."
